Wheat of the "Change" variety is a soft winter cultivar (Triticum aestivum L.), developed by the Selection and Genetics Institute of the National Center for Seed Science and Variety Testing in Odesa in cooperation with the Closed Joint-Stock Company "Selenia". This variety is included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region and is recommended for cultivation in the Republic of Crimea. The pedigree of this variety includes lines "Odesskaya Krasnokolosnaya", "Olvia", and "Albatros Odesky". The plant is medium-height with an upright bush, has a spindle-shaped, medium-density, and medium-length white ear, as well as a strong waxy coating on the upper internode and the sheath of the flag leaf. The grain is colored and medium-sized, ensuring excellent baking qualities.
The "Change" variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought, as well as above-average winter hardiness. It is weakly affected by major diseases and pests, making it a reliable choice for agricultural production. Due to these characteristics, this wheat variety demonstrates stable productivity and grain quality, which is especially important under variable climate conditions and market challenges.
Wheat is one of Ukraine's key agricultural crops, ensuring food security and significant export revenues. Despite the difficulties associated with war and market changes, this variety remains relevant and in demand. Current prices for wheat of class 3, to which "Change" belongs, vary depending on the region, reflecting the dynamics of supply and demand. Portals and companies engaged in wheat procurement and sales help producers quickly find buyers, facilitating effective product realization.
