KWS Malibu winter wheat is a variety developed for high yield and stable grain quality. This variety is adapted to diverse growing conditions, making it an attractive choice for farmers seeking a reliable and productive harvest. KWS Malibu is a non-hybrid crop and belongs to KWS's portfolio, focused on providing producers with high-quality seed material.
The variety is characterized by high productive tillering, allowing sowing rates to be reduced to 3.0-3.5 million germinating seeds per hectare. It belongs to class A, corresponding to Ukraine's premium wheat class, and demonstrates yield potential ranging from 7 to 10 tons per hectare. Optimal sowing dates are from September 10 to 25. KWS Malibu exhibits high drought and disease resistance, including leaf diseases, septoria, yellow rust, and fusarium head blight, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions.
Plants reach a height of approximately 80 cm, exhibit high and stable yield, and have high protein content in grain. The variety shows variability in traits such as 1000-grain weight, heading and maturity dates, number of grains per ear, stem density, and lodging resistance. These characteristics make KWS Malibu a versatile and reliable choice for cultivation across various regions of Ukraine, including Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Lviv, Poltava, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
