This simple hybrid with semi-dent/dent grain type has become a staple for farmers who value predictability and resistance to the environmental stresses typical of Ukraine.

Agronomic Potential and Adaptability

The long vegetation period (120–140 days) allows the hybrid to effectively utilize soil potential and accumulate significant biomass. Due to its genetic background, «Dniprovskyi 476 MV» shows strong resistance to diseases such as fusarium, helminthosporiosis, and common smut. This simplifies the crop protection system, significantly reducing the costs associated with fungicide applications.

Practical Applications and Seeding Density

The primary advantage of this hybrid is its versatility. It is chosen for:

• Producing high-quality commercial grain for the milling and feed industries.
• Harvesting nutritious silage, as the plant develops a robust stalk and leaf mass rich in nutrients.

Seeding density should be determined by regional moisture availability. The recommended plant population ranges from 50,000 to 75,000 plants per hectare. In regions with sufficient moisture, operators should aim for the upper limit (70,000–75,000 plants/ha) to maximize cob yield. In more arid conditions, it is optimal to reduce the density to 50,000–60,000 plants/ha to minimize competition for water during critical growth stages.
