BOYARYNYA

The winter wheat variety 'Boyarynya' represents a highly productive and resistant grain crop created by the selection of RAS 'DZNIISKH'. This variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, frost resistance, and heat/drought resistance, which allows for successful cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the middle band of Russia and the North Caucasus and Middle Volga regions. Plants of the variety are short-stemmed with sturdy stems, resistant to lodging, which helps maintain the yield under unfavorable weather conditions. The vegetation period ranges from 224 to 279 days; the variety is medium-early and ripens a few days later than standard samples. 'Boyarynya' is characterized by high yield, which consistently exceeds the indicators of standard varieties. Under drought conditions, the variety can form up to 700-800 ears per square meter, ensuring a yield of 6-7 tons per hectare and higher. The maximum registered yield reached 81.6 centners per hectare. High productivity of the variety is associated with intensive growth of mass after resumption of spring vegetation and the ability to realize potential under intensive cultivation technologies. The ear is cylindrical, dense, with long awns; grain is of medium volume, egg-shaped, and red in color. Grain of the 'Boyarynya' variety is distinguished by high milling and baking qualities. High gluten content (26.6-32.8%) and protein (13.5-16.2%) ensure good flour and bread quality. The grain is highly vitreous (92%), with a specific weight of 810 kg/m³. The variety is resistant to major wheat diseases such as brown rust, fusarium head blight, and septoria, and shows weak infection by powdery mildew. Thanks to these characteristics, 'Boyarynya' is a valuable variety for agronomic use and is recommended for cultivation in various regions with different soil and climatic conditions.
