Dniprohna

Winter wheat variety Dniprohna, developed by the Institute of Agronomy of the Southern Region of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Myronov Institute of Wheat named after V.M. Remesla, is intended for cultivation in the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe zones. This variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, ensuring reliable crop development under various climatic conditions. Moreover, Dniprohna is resistant to such diseases as powdery mildew, brown rust, leaf septoria, and fusarium of the head, which significantly reduces the risk of yield loss.

The grain of this variety is large, oval-shaped, white in color, with a thousand-grain weight of 40–42 g and a natural density of 828 g/l. The content of crude protein varies from 13.0 to 14.5 %, and crude gluten from 24.7 to 26.6 %. The flour strength indicator ranges from 275–366 arbitrary units, enabling the production of bread with a volume up to 760 cm³. High technological characteristics make this variety attractive for producing high-quality flour and bakery products.

Dniprohna belongs to the intensive type of varieties, responds well to improvements in agrofond and agronomic practices, which contributes to achieving high yields — from 6.0 to 10.5 t/ha. Thanks to its comprehensive advantages, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain a stable and high-quality wheat harvest under various natural-climatic conditions.
