BUMBA

The Bumba variety of soft winter wheat is a mid-early, short-stemmed, and dwarf type with plant heights ranging from 79 to 94 cm. It is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and has a vegetative period from 212 to 287 days. This variety belongs to the lutescens group and is characterized by high drought tolerance and above-average frost hardiness, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions.

Bumba is recommended for cultivation in regions of Russia such as Krasnodar Krai, Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, Azov and Southern zones of Rostov Oblast, as well as the Chechen Republic. The average yield of the variety in these regions reaches 80.3 centners per hectare, while the yield potential can reach 100 centners per hectare. In competitive variety trials, the variety demonstrated high productivity, surpassing standards in terms of yield and showing stable indicators over several years.

The Bumba variety possesses excellent baking qualities meeting the requirements for strong wheat. It has average resistance to a range of diseases: brown rust shows average resistance, yellow rust and septoria are moderately susceptible, powdery mildew is moderately resistant, and Fusarium head blight and viral infections are moderately resistant. Due to the combination of high yield, resistance to adverse conditions, and good technological characteristics, the Bumba variety is a promising choice for agricultural production.
