BILINA DONA

Bilina Dona is a soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety characterized by a medium-early maturity period and a medium-height plant type. This variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, ensuring its stable development in various soil and climatic conditions, including the Rostov region and the Republic of Adygea. Plants reach heights from 82 to 109 cm, have a semi-erect bush with a cylindrical ear 8.0-9.5 cm in length of medium density. The grain is medium-sized, well-filled, vitreous and red in color, with a 1000-grain mass ranging from 37 to 45 g. The variety exhibits resistance to lodging, grain shedding, and germination in the ear, which significantly reduces yield losses. Bilina Dona demonstrates good resistance to main diseases, such as brown rust and fusarium head blight, as well as moderate resistance to common bunt and susceptibility to powdery mildew. The vegetative period of the variety is from 214 to 279 days, allowing it to successfully adapt to the conditions of the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions. The yield of the variety is stable and high – in the North Caucasus region, the average figure reaches 51.2 c/ha. The grain of the Bilina Dona variety differs in good baking qualities, with protein content from 13.3 to 15.5% and gluten from 24.1 to 30.3%, making it in demand for flour, bread, and other food products production. Due to the combination of high productivity, stress factor resistance, and grain quality characteristics, this variety is a reliable choice for agricultural production in the recommended regions.
