Soft winter wheat Anastasia is a mid-season grain wheat variety bred at the FSBSI «South-East Wheat Breeding Institute» by individual selection from the hybrid population of Mironskaya 808 / Brigantina. Plants reach a height of 90-115 cm, have strong stems, and are resistant to lodging. The ear is 14-18 cm long, and the variety belongs to the lutescens group. It matures 2-3 days earlier than the Mironskaya 808 variety, which allows for the effective use of agricultural cultivation timing.
The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, drought tolerance, and increased salt tolerance, which ensures stable yield in various climatic conditions. The mass of 1000 grains is 34-43 g, and grain natural moisture is 770-810 g/L. Anastasia is resistant to diseases such as hard smut, powdery mildew, and fusarium of the ear, and also has moderate resistance to brown rust. These qualities make the variety a reliable choice for growing in regions with variable weather conditions.
The main application of the Anastasia variety is associated with the production of high-quality flour and bakery products. The grain contains 12-14% protein and 20-24% gluten, which ensures good rheological properties of the flour and dough. Due to high productivity and excellent technological characteristics, the variety enjoys high competitiveness in the market and is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Saratov region.
