Description SEKLETIYA
Sekletiya is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) created through multiple individual selections from a hybrid population obtained by crossing the Granma and Odessa Luzanovka varieties. This medium-early variety is characterized by a medium-height, semi-erect plant ranging from 72 to 99 cm in height with a pyramidal, medium-length and density spike. The vegetative period ranges from 212 to 286 days, ripening simultaneously with the Don 93 and Yermak varieties, and a few days earlier than the Grom variety. The grain is red-colored, with a 1000-grain mass varying from 35 to 46 grams. The variety belongs to the erythrosporum type and possesses excellent baking qualities comparable to those of a good filler. Sekletiya is distinguished by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, lodging resistance at the level of the Don 93 and Yermak standards, and moderate resistance to brown rust and powdery mildew. Under field conditions, the variety shows weak Fusarium head blight infection, indicating its resistance to leaf-stem diseases and wheat mosaic virus. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, including Stavropol Krai and the Republic of Kalmykia, as well as in the Lower Volga region. The maximum yield of the Sekletiya variety reaches 112.1 c/ha, which was recorded in Stavropol Krai. The average yield in the North Caucasus region is 54.6 c/ha, and in the Lower Volga region, it is 21.4 c/ha. The variety is recommended for cultivation after fallows and the best non-fallow predecessors in all agroecological zones of Stavropol Krai. Due to its high agro-technical and biological characteristics, Sekletiya is a promising choice for increasing the productivity and stability of soft winter wheat crops.
