Description

Robin is a soft winter wheat variety created by interspecific hybridization from the Stanichnaya and Kuyarnik varieties. This medium-early variety belongs to the erythrosporum subtype and is characterized by a pyramidal head of medium length and density. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 38 to 49 grams, while plant height varies between 78-100 cm. The plants are semi-upright, resistant to lodging, ensuring crop preservation and harvesting convenience. The vegetation period lasts from 217 to 288 days, maturing several days earlier than varieties such as Don 93, Don 107, and Ayvina. The Robin variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions, including Rostov Oblast, Stavropol Krai, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, and Volgograd Oblast. It is well-adapted to various soil conditions, such as common and southern chernozems, as well as light chestnut and brown soils. Robin is distinguished by high yields — averaging 51.0 c/ha in the North Caucasus region and 23.3 c/ha in the Lower Volga region, with maximum indicators reaching up to 111.8 c/ha, confirming its economic efficiency. The sowing rate is 4.5–5.5 million viable seeds per hectare, which is optimal for achieving high results. The variety has good resistance to major diseases, including brown rust, powdery mildew, and smut, and demonstrates high heat and drought resistance. Winter hardiness is above average, allowing successful cultivation under moderately severe winter conditions. Milling qualities are good, making Robin valuable for the milling and baking industries. Due to the combination of high productivity, resistance to adverse factors, and grain quality, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions.
