Antonivka wheat is an overwintering soft variety of the intensive type, designed for grain production. The variety is characterized by medium plant height of 92-96 cm, a strong head with a large number of well-filled grains, and high bushiness. The vegetation period is 280-285 days, the mass of 1000 grains ranges from 36.2 to 44.4 g, and the protein content reaches 12.5-13.8%, ensuring high grain quality. The potential yield of the variety ranges from 48.6 to 87.5 c/ha, making it attractive for various agrobackgrounds. Antonivka is distinguished by high resistance to adverse climatic conditions, including low temperatures and drought, as well as high frost and winter hardiness. The variety is resistant to lodging and head shattering, which contributes to crop preservation. Moreover, it exhibits group resistance to a number of phytodiseases, such as gray and stem rust, septoria, root rots, yellow rust, powdery mildew, flying smut, and fusarium, which reduces the need for additional protective measures. Antonivka wheat is recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine, where it demonstrates high yield on both high and low agrobackgrounds, including crops after non-fallow predecessors. The variety was bred by the Selective and Genetic Institute of the National Center for Seed Production and Variety Study in Odessa and has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2008. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, Antonivka is a reliable choice for farmers seeking to obtain a stable and high-quality wheat crop.
