Winter wheat variety Bogdanka is a high-yielding and intensive grain variety intended for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-steppe, and Polesie. This variety is characterized by medium maturity, high frost resistance and drought tolerance, ensuring stable growth and high productivity even under complex climatic conditions. Bogdanka possesses high plasticity to growing conditions and resistance to lodging and shattering, which significantly eases agricultural processes and reduces crop losses.
The grain quality of the Bogdanka variety is characterized by a high thousand-kernel weight — 683 g/l, protein content within 12.9–14.7%, and raw gluten from 26.6 to 32.3%. These indicators ensure good milling and baking properties, as well as high flour strength (242-365 a.a.) and bread volume (830-1110 cm³), making this variety universal for various directions of use in the food industry.
To achieve maximum yield, which can reach up to 97 c/ha, it is recommended to grow the Bogdanka variety using intensive technology with the application of optimal doses of mineral fertilizers and timely protection against pests and diseases. The seeding rate is 4.5–5.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Such an approach allows fully unlocking the potential of the variety, ensuring a stable and high yield, as well as high grain quality.
