Wheat Ambicja / Ambition

Stable yields in challenging conditions: Working with "Ambicja"

When it comes to winter wheat from the Polish breeder HODOWLA ROSLIN STRZELCE, the first thing you notice in the field is predictability. The "Ambicja" variety demonstrates the exact balance an agronomist looks for: manageable growth and a robust immune system. With a plant height of 90–100 cm, the crop does not require excessive use of plant growth regulators (PGRs), which significantly lowers production costs per hectare, while maintaining excellent lodging resistance even during heavy rainfall in the grain-filling phase.

Phytosanitary shield

The main headache when working with intensive wheat varieties is fungal pressure. "Ambicja" shows excellent resistance to key pathogens, allowing for flexible fungicide application strategies. In practice, this means:

• Snow mold: high resistance ensures a confident start after winter with minimal stand loss.
• Leaf diseases: reliable protection against brown rust and leaf septoria, which is vital for preserving the photosynthetic area of the flag leaf.
• Spike health: comprehensive resistance to septoria and fusarium head blight mitigates the risk of producing low-quality grain contaminated with mycotoxins.
• Powdery mildew: the variety effectively resists infection even in high-density stands and humid environments.

For the operator, this variety is convenient because it is not "fussy" regarding farming practices. It is forgiving of timing errors in fertilization and delivers stable results across various soil types. In intensive farming, "Ambicja" from HODOWLA ROSLIN STRZELCE Sp. z o.o. Grupa acts as a reliable asset, allowing for accurate yield forecasting well before harvest begins.
