Vetch Dionis

A Reliable Foundation for Forage Production

The 'Dionis' common vetch (Vicia sativa) is a hallmark of Ukrainian breeding, developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS. It has secured a firm position in the market as a go-to solution for farms aiming to maximize protein output in their fodder stocks. By focusing on regional adaptability, this variety minimizes risks associated with local soil and climatic fluctuations.

Agro-Technological Profile

Designed primarily for early spring sowing, 'Dionis' capitalizes on early-season soil moisture. Farmers value this variety for its rapid establishment and vigorous biomass development, which are essential for producing high-quality green forage or hay. Its balanced development cycle allows for efficient timing of harvesting operations, ensuring consistent yields even under standard management practices.

Market Positioning and Application

Unlike specialized hybrids, 'Dionis' is a stable, reliable variety that performs exceptionally well in both pure stands and mixed crops with cereals. It serves as a versatile tool for livestock enterprises seeking to stabilize their feed supplies. The proven pedigree provided by the NAAS ensures that agricultural producers can plan their winter feed stocks with confidence, making it a cornerstone of efficient, local forage production.
