Vetch NOVOSIBIRSKAYA

Siberian Breeding for Reliable Forage Production

The 'Novosibirskaya' vetch variety is the result of long-term breeding work by the ICG SB RAS (Institute of Cytology and Genetics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences). Developed specifically for adaptive farming in challenging environments, this variety has established itself as a staple for producers aiming for high-quality green fodder in regions with a limited growing season.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

The true value of 'Novosibirskaya' lies in its biological resilience. In the conditions of early spring sowing, when the risk of pathogen development increases due to volatile temperatures, this variety demonstrates robust resistance to common pulse diseases:

• Strong resistance to root rot.
• Genetic immunity to fusarium.
• High tolerance to powdery mildew.

These characteristics allow farmers to minimize expenditures on fungicide treatments, making this crop both an economical and sustainable choice for green manure and forage production.

Field Application

Classified as a legume crop, 'Novosibirskaya' is specifically optimized for biomass production. Its early-spring maturity allows it to capitalize on soil moisture from snowmelt, resulting in rapid vegetative growth. This makes it an essential component of the forage chain for livestock farms. The scientific pedigree of the ICG SB RAS ensures consistent performance, backed by years of successful field trials and practical implementation across diverse agro-climatic zones.
