Vetch Elizaveta

Stability and Yield: The Elizaveta Advantage

Vetch variety 'Elizaveta', developed by the Vinnytsia Agricultural Research Station, has established itself as a reliable choice for Ukrainian livestock operations. Unlike many imported varieties that may struggle with local climate variations, Elizaveta is specifically bred for the regional environment, ensuring consistent performance from season to season.

Key Advantages for Production

• Rapid early development: The variety exhibits strong initial growth vigor, outcompeting weeds and capitalizing on essential spring soil moisture.
• Versatility: It is equally effective for hay, haylage, or as a green forage component, providing flexible management options for your farm.
• Adaptation: Proven performance in early spring sowing, which is crucial for early-season forage production cycles.

Operational Considerations

Success with Elizaveta relies heavily on the timing of the harvest. The golden rule for this crop is harvesting at the budding stage. This is the physiological window where the protein content and overall nutritional value are at their peak. Delaying the harvest beyond this phase leads to rapid lignification of the stems, which can significantly decrease digestibility for livestock.

Elizaveta is the logical choice for producers focused on cost-effective, high-quality animal nutrition. By choosing this variety, farmers benefit from local breeding expertise, reducing reliance on expensive imports while maintaining high output levels of protein-rich forage.
