Vetch MIKAELA

French Breeding Excellence for High-Protein Forage

The 'Micaela' vetch variety, developed by Laboulet Semences, represents a specialized solution for intensive livestock farming. Originating from the collaborative efforts of Laboulet Semences, Iar Agri, and Veronigue Tramcourt, this annual legume is engineered to maximize biomass production while maintaining superior nutritional density, essential for high-quality silage and haylage.

Agronomic Performance and Plant Physiology

Micaela stands out due to its rapid early-season growth, providing a competitive edge over weeds from the initial stages of development. As an annual crop, it is exceptionally well-suited for intercropping with cereals like oats or barley. The plant's architecture allows it to utilize the taller cereal stems for structural support, significantly reducing lodging and streamlining the mechanical harvesting process.

Key Technical Advantages:

• Superior Protein Profile: Provides a high concentration of crude protein, essential for cattle nutrition.
• Harvest Efficiency: Optimized maturity cycle allows for precise timing of the cutting window.
• Genetic Consistency: Laboulet Semences' breeding protocols ensure uniform germination and predictable crop development.

Investing in Laboulet Semences genetic material provides professional farmers with the consistency needed to manage feed costs. By prioritizing both crop resilience and yield, Micaela offers a reliable foundation for farms focused on boosting dairy or meat production through optimized forage quality.
