The spring vetch variety «Hybrid 85» – a high-protein fodder legume variety, intended for cultivation in steppe and field zones. It is characterized by medium yield of dry matter of about 95 c/ha and seed sowing mass of approximately 22 c/ha. Its internal composition ensures a crude protein content of 18.6% (protein harvest – 3.43 c/ha), fat 2.83%, and fiber 27.76%. These indicators make it attractive for livestock feeding, ensuring an adequate level of nutrients.
The variety differs in good drought resistance and does not require specific soil conditions: it grows successfully on neutral and slightly acidic soils, as well as in conditions of moderate moisture. Thanks to high resistance to pod rupture and unpretentiousness towards soil type, «Hybrid 85» is easily introduced after plowing or grain crops.
Externally, the seeds of the variety are round, without a pattern, light lilac in color. Pods are slightly curved with a pointed tip. The variety belongs to the immaculate type and is suitable for sowing plans in steppe and field regions. It was developed based on research of the Poltava State Agricultural Experimental Station and the Biolyce Church Research and Breeding Station of the Sugar Cane Institute UAAN, which confirms its high productivity and reliability in agrotechnical practices.
