Timothy grass 'Vologda Local' is a type of oat bred through mass selection from local genetic material of the Vologda region. The variety is characterized by late maturity, which allows for higher yield and improved dry matter quality. It is distinguished by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, making it suitable for cultivation under variable weather conditions.
The collected data show that 'Vologda Local' is capable of producing up to 8–9 tons of dry matter per hectare. Seed yield ranges from 400 to 500 kilograms per hectare, ensuring a sufficient reserve for subsequent use as feed and industrial raw material. Disease resistance of the variety is average, however, its overall phytosanitary stability allows for its use without frequent application of agrochemicals.
The 'Vologda Local' variety is suitable for both large-scale agricultural enterprises and small farms. Thanks to the combination of high yield, winter hardiness, and drought resistance, it ensures a stable income with minimal expenses on plant protection.
