Timothy grass Kazachinskaya 2 – a variety bred at the Kazachinskaya Experimental Station by mass selection from a local wild-growing sample. The bush is upright or semi-tumbling, stems reach a height of up to 100 cm and have medium coarseness. The variety belongs to the group of fast-maturing grasses; the vegetation period from the beginning of spring vegetation to the first cut is 45‑50 days, and to full seed ripeness – 75‑80 days.
Kazachinskaya 2 is distinguished by good winter hardiness and medium drought resistance. Under unfavorable conditions, the plant does not fall over and is weakly affected by rust, which makes it resistant to common diseases. After the cut, the bushes regrow quickly in the spring period, ensuring a stable yield.
The variety is characterized by medium dry matter yield, corresponding to standards. It is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions and can be used as feed grass due to its resistance to unfavorable factors and good nutritional value.
