Timothy grass 'Iglinskaya local' – a late-maturing variety developed at the Bashkir Research Institute of Agriculture and included in the State Register since 1951. The variety is distinguished by its resistance to high soil acidity, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones: from the Urals to the north-eastern forest-steppe, as well as mountain-forest regions.
'Iglinskaya local' is characterized by medium tillering and good winter hardiness. Soil moisture does not hinder growth, and the variety recovers quickly after unfavorable periods. Low susceptibility to diseases allows for a stable yield without frequent interventions.
The nutritional properties of the plant make it a valuable feed material: the dry mass of green mass contains up to 4.2% crude protein and up to 9.6% fiber. Yield reaches 280 centners of hay per hectare, and seeds – 6.0 centners. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is widely used in agriculture for the production of feed materials and hay.
