Betty F1 table beet is a mid-season hybrid developed by the breeding company Rijk Zwaan for summer planting in various soil-climate conditions. The vegetation period is 110-115 days from emergence, allowing for a stable harvest at optimal times. The plant is heat-loving, actively develops in warmed soil under sunlight, and positively responds to regular watering and fertilization. To improve root crop quality, it is recommended to thin the crop twice, remove weeds, and loosen the soil. Yield reaches 4.5 to 6 kg per square meter, corresponding to a potential of up to 60 tons per hectare. Betty beet roots have a round shape, smooth surface, and uniform size, weighing 200 to 300 grams and up to 12-13 cm in diameter. Their color is bright burgundy with a purple tint, and the flesh has a rich dark red hue. Sugar content reaches 8.6%, dry matter — 12.2%, making this variety particularly attractive for fresh consumption and fresh juice production. The beet does not overgrow, has strong leaf stalk attachment, which is compact, and a robust leafy apparatus. High yield of marketable product reaches up to 96%, confirming the quality and uniformity of the roots. Betty F1 is suitable for mechanized harvest and can be transported over long distances without quality loss. Harvested roots can be stored for 2-3 months, retaining their nutritional properties. This variety is versatile in use: it can be baked, boiled, stewed, or roasted without fear of losing flavor and nutritional value. The beet is resistant to fungal diseases and stress conditions, enhancing cultivation reliability. Thanks to its excellent taste and high nutritional value, the Betty variety is in demand both in fresh markets and for processing.
