Table beet variety Borde is a medium-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 80 to 110 days, allowing harvest within 3-4 months after emergence of seedlings. The roots have a round shape, diameter 12-15 cm, and weight from 200 to 500 grams. The flesh is a rich dark-red color, dense and uniform, without characteristic white rings, with a pleasant sweet and tender taste. This variety has good storability, ensuring long-term storage of roots until early spring without loss of quality.
Borde is highly resistant to fungal diseases and pests, and also shows heat and drought tolerance, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Beet develops well both in warm and cool weather, but does not tolerate soil overwatering, so irrigation is recommended as needed. To increase yield and quality of roots, thinning, soil loosening, and fertilization are recommended, preferably in neutral, nutrient-rich, and well-heated sunny soils.
Seeds are sown directly into the soil, and seed pellets can be used to accelerate germination. Early harvests are obtained from winter sowings in October-November, while spring harvests begin in April when soil temperature rises above +6 degrees. Beet variety Borde is versatile in use: it is suitable for preparing various dishes both raw and processed, making it popular among home gardeners and large agricultural complexes.
