Sugar beet TSM 60809

Field Performance: A Practical Look at TCM 60809

For agronomists and farm operators, the TCM 60809 sugar beet hybrid offers a reliable solution for consistent yields. Developed by a team of experts led by Sergey Ivanovich Skachkov, this variety is engineered to handle field pressures while maintaining high throughput during the harvest season.

Disease Resistance and Crop Protection

Managing fungal threats is the biggest challenge in sugar beet production. TCM 60809 provides built-in resilience, reducing the need for intensive chemical applications:

• Cercospora: The genetic profile of this hybrid effectively suppresses spot development, keeping the canopy healthy throughout the season.
• Root rot (Rhizoctonia): Enhanced resistance during the germination stage ensures consistent crop density and fewer replanting issues.
• Powdery mildew and rot: The structural integrity of the root protects it from post-harvest decay, which is vital for long-term storage in clamps.

Harvesting Efficiency and Morphology

The medium-sized, cylindrical-conical root shape is specifically suited for automated harvesting equipment. This geometry allows topper-loaders and harvesters to operate with minimal field loss. Because the roots sit perfectly for the lifting tines, the mechanical damage is significantly reduced. This leads to cleaner harvests with less soil intake, ultimately lowering fuel consumption during transport and reducing cleaning costs at the sugar processing plant. A smooth harvest process ensures the roots reach the processor with optimal sugar content intact.
