FR 842 HC 17 is a sunflower hybrid developed using traditional selection methods and accelerated seed reproduction techniques between seasons. Production and quality control are carried out by PANAM Semences, which guarantees the absence of GMOs and high product quality. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia regions, confirming its adaptability and versatility.
This sunflower belongs to the early-maturing or mid-early maturing hybrids with a vegetation period ranging from 90 to 110 days. Plants reach a height of 170–185 cm and possess a well-developed root system, ensuring drought resistance and resilience to adverse conditions. The sunflower head is large — 180–210 mm in diameter — contributing to high yields reaching 53–55 ц/ha. The hybrid features high oil content in seeds — approximately 52% — making it attractive for oil production.
FR 842 HC 17 exhibits resistance to diseases, particularly powdery mildew, as well as resistance to the parasitic weed burdock. The hybrid is adapted for use with the herbicide Granstar Flash, simplifying weed control and enhancing cultivation efficiency. Thanks to these characteristics, the sunflower demonstrates stable yields even on nutrient-poor soils and under drought conditions, making it a profitable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality and productive harvests.
