MS FDSR 001 is a mid-season diploid hybrid of sugar beet intended for cultivation in all regions of the sugar beet growing zone. This variety is characterized by high yield and sugar content, as well as superior final plant density. The root has a cylinder-cone shape, with an average weight of about 700 grams. The surface of the root is relatively smooth, reducing soil adhesion during harvest. The crown of the root is usually positioned above the field surface, and the root system is taproot-like, penetrating to a depth of 2-2.5 meters, which contributes to the plant's resistance to unfavorable conditions. The plant is resistant to high and low temperatures, as well as to diseases such as cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot. The leaf rosette is semi-spreading, the leaf blade is of medium size, entire and moderately corrugated. The vegetative period is up to 120 days, corresponding to medium maturity terms. Sowing is recommended in April at a depth of 2-3 cm with a row spacing of 20x50 cm, and harvest is carried out from July to September. MS FDSR 001 has a universal waste-free purpose: all parts of the plant are utilized. Roots are used in cooking for making borscht and kvass, and also serve as fodder crops. Moreover, the variety is suitable for technical processing for the production of sugar and molasses. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, this hybrid is a reliable choice for successful sugar beet cultivation.
