Beet sugar variety TWISTER is a high-yielding crop with a cylindrical root weighing approximately 700 grams. The plant features a semi-spreading rosette of leaves with medium-sized, solid, and moderately ribbed leaf blades of dark green color. The root system is taprooted, penetrating to a depth of 2–2.5 meters, providing drought and cold resistance. The vegetative period lasts up to 120 days, and the root is buried deeply in the soil (85%), which contributes to its good storability and reduces damage during harvest due to its relatively smooth surface. TWISTER variety exhibits high resistance to major sugar beet diseases such as cercosporosis, powdery mildew, and root rot. This makes it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions. Due to its high resistance to stress and diseases, as well as good storability, this variety is recommended for medium harvest timing, allowing optimization of agronomic practices and improved product quality. To achieve maximum yield and root quality, sugar beet TWISTER requires high levels of nutrients, especially phosphorus and potassium, as well as micronutrients such as boron, zinc, and manganese. An important agronomic practice is early row closure, reduction of weed pressure, and enhancement of plant photosynthetic activity. Use of specialized fertilizers with micronutrients promotes rapid young plant development and maintenance of nutrient reserves, ultimately ensuring high sugar content. The variety is versatile in application: roots are used in culinary purposes for making borscht and kvass, as well as in technical applications for sugar and molasses production; additionally, the crop serves as a by-product feed.
