Sugar beet SKMS 11348 X 11301 Sugar Beet

Focusing on Resilience: The Breeding Success of Pervomayskaya SSE

The sugar beet hybrid SKMS 11348 X 11301 is the result of long-term efforts by the Pervomayskaya Sugar Beet Selection and Experimental Station. In the context of modern agronomy, where pathogens are becoming increasingly aggressive, selecting seeds capable of resisting diseases without excessive chemical intervention is paramount. This hybrid represents a robust response to one of the industry's primary threats: Cercospora leaf spot.

Technological Potential and Selection

The development of this hybrid was carried out by a team of experts, including A. G. Shevchenko, V. A. Logvinov, and V. N. Mishchenko. The creators prioritized the balance between high root productivity and strong immunity. The genotype of SKMS 11348 X 11301 is focused on stability; even in years with high disease pressure, the plant retains its canopy, which is critical for sugar accumulation.

Crop Geometry

From an agrotechnical perspective, the hybrid is distinguished by its broad-conical root shape. This geometry provides several key advantages:

• Optimal soil penetration, facilitating smoother harvesting with modern machinery.
• High sugar yield per hectare.
• Uniform field development, reducing losses during mechanical lifting.

As the originator and patent holder, the Pervomayskaya SSE ensures strict quality control of the seed material at every stage. For farmers, this translates to predictable performance and adherence to stated variety traits. Utilizing SKMS 11348 X 11301 is an excellent strategy for farms focused on intensive farming, prioritizing phytosanitary safety and harvesting efficiency.
