Sugar beet SKL (5121 P 99/96)

Genetics of Sugar Yield: СКЛ (5121 П 99/96)

The sugar beet hybrid СКЛ (5121 П 99/96) is a specialized development by the Pervomayskaya Selection and Experimental Station, focused on creating high-sugar varieties for continental climates. As a triploid hybrid of the ZZ type (maximum sugar content), it serves as a strategic solution for growers aiming to maximize sugar output per hectare while maintaining precise control over logistics and raw material processing efficiency.

Resilience and Phytosanitary Profile

A distinctive feature of this hybrid is its robust field resistance to the most common sugar beet pathogens. The plant's genetic defense effectively withstands root rot (Aphanomyces/Pythium complex) during early developmental stages and significantly suppresses the development of Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew later in the season. This resistance enables growers to optimize fungicide application programs, thereby lowering production costs.

• Type: Maximum Sugar (ZZ)
• Sugar Content: 17–18%
• Ploidy: Triploid
• Recommended Density: 90,000–100,000 plants/ha

The reputation of the Pervomayskaya breeding program is rooted in the rigorous testing of each line. СКЛ (5121 П 99/96) consistently performs on both fertile chernozem and more challenging soil types, provided that the recommended plant density is maintained. This hybrid is optimized for intensive agricultural technologies, where its genetic potential is unlocked through adherence to precise agronomic timelines and balanced plant nutrition.
