Sugar beet of the variety Kasino is a two-year root crop of the family Beta, intended for cultivation in open ground. The plant forms a broad conical root of medium length with firm white flesh and basal leaves forming a rosette. This hybrid belongs to the single-stemmed diploid NE-type and is characterized by a medium-early maturation period with a vegetative period of about 160 days. The plant is of medium height, which facilitates harvesting and crop maintenance.
The variety Kasino is included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region and demonstrates high yield — on average, 619.2 centners of root crops per hectare. The weight of one root crop is about 665.6 grams. The sugar content in the roots reaches 16.8%, ensuring a sugar harvest of 107 centners per hectare. During field trials in the region, no cases of disease or pest infestation were recorded, indicating high resistance of the variety and reducing the need for protective measures.
For successful cultivation of sugar beet Kasino, optimal temperatures for seed germination are in the range of +10-12°C, and for plant growth and development — +20-22°C. High seeding efficiency is achieved through winter sowing, which allows obtaining stable and high-quality yields. This variety of sugar beet is widely used for sugar production and can also be utilized as a fodder crop, making it a versatile and economically advantageous choice for agricultural enterprises.
