Sugar beet SCMS (A-1 X 11301)

Genetic Foundation of Productivity

The sugar beet hybrid SKMS (A-1 X 11301) is a prime example of breeding focused on maximizing sugar yield per hectare. Developed by the Pervomayskaya Breeding and Experimental Station (SOS), this hybrid embodies the 'sugar' type (Z), prioritizing high sucrose concentration over raw root mass. This technical focus is crucial for growers working with processing facilities that enforce strict standards for raw material digestion.

Diploid Ploidy as a Stability Factor

The core of this model is its diploid ploidy. In practical field management, this translates into high predictability of crop development. Diploid hybrids traditionally demonstrate uniform germination and consistent plant growth, which is essential for efficient mechanized harvesting. Originators Anatoly Shevchenko, Viktor Logvinov, and Vladimir Mishchenko have prioritized the stability of biological parameters, ensuring minimal risk under fluctuating weather conditions.

• Type Z (Sugar Type): Higher specific sugar content, effectively reducing transport costs per unit of final product.
• Genetic Purity: The expertise of Pervomayskaya SOS guarantees strict adherence to the stated characteristics of the breeding achievement.
• Adaptability: The diploid chromosome set ensures optimal metabolic performance under varying moisture levels.

The application of this planting material is ideal for intensive beet-growing regions, where the goal is not merely tonnage, but the production of high-quality raw materials with superior technological processing characteristics.
