Sea buckthorn Kora

Breeding Excellence by Sc Primagra S.R.L

Moldovan selection, represented by Sc Primagra S.R.L, has introduced the 'Kora' sea buckthorn variety, elevating decorative horticulture to a new standard of functional design. Originators Sergiu Popa and Claudia Adriana Vulpe have focused on creating a cultivar that synthesizes architectural aesthetics with high adaptability to regional climatic stressors.

Technical Specifications

• Genetic Foundation: The variety is engineered specifically for landscaping purposes. The breeders' approach allowed for a precise balance between vegetative growth rates and resistance to pathogens typical for Hippophae rhamnoides.
• Biological Architecture: 'Kora' is defined by its shoot structure, which facilitates the development of a tidy canopy with minimal pruning. This is crucial for landscape architects designing long-term, predictable visual compositions.
• Decorative Potential: The primary focus lies in the texture of the bark and the intensity of foliage pigmentation, ensuring the plant stands out against wild-type forms. The variety exhibits excellent resilience during dry periods, a hallmark of Moldovan breeding standards.

The practical application of 'Kora' is ideal for projects involving hedges and accent groupings. Due to strict controls maintained by the originator (Sc Primagra S.R.L), the plant material retains high varietal purity and stability of characteristics, ensuring predictable growth patterns during the first 5-7 years after installation.
