Description
Sea buckthorn variety "Minusa" is a highly winter-hardy shrub up to 2.7 m tall with a spreading crown of medium density and foliage. Bushes have straight, thornless shoots, and the bark on the trunk and main branches is dark brown. Leaves are green, linear-lanceolate, and of medium size.
Fruits of the variety are characterized by a yellow-orange color, conical (sometimes ovoid) shape, and a mass of about 0.7 g. Inside, they contain tart-sweet flesh with a medium-intensity aroma. Sugar content is approximately 6%, acidity – 2.1%. Fruit masses are rich in vitamin C (about 70 mg/100 g), oil (≈5.7%), and carotenoids (≈11.2%).
The yield of the variety ranges from 16.6 to 28.5 t/ha, corresponding to 13.3–24.7 kg per plant. Fruits ripen in the second half of August and are suitable for both direct consumption and the production of juice, jam, compote, and other products. The variety is distinguished by increased resistance to drought and high winter hardiness, making it easy to grow under various climatic conditions.
