Ryegrass Viking

Ryegrass «Viking» – an annual variety of Lolium multiflorum designed for creating lawn cover. The plant is characterized by compact growth: bushes are semi-erect in the initial development stage, height at flowering is low, and leaves are short and of medium width. Leaves are green, the flag leaf is narrow with a low length-to-width ratio, which ensures a dense and even cover.

The variety is distinguished by high decorative value and resistance to mechanical damage: after mowing, growth slowly recovers but maintains dense bushiness. Inflorescences are short and loose, with a moderate number of spikelets, which reduces the risk of forming strong inflorescences and enhances the aesthetic appeal of the lawn.

«Viking» is suitable for use as lawn grass due to its ability to quickly form a dense green mass. The plant grows well on various soil types, including saline soils, and possesses good phyto-sanitary properties, making it a reliable choice for maintaining high-quality cover.
