Ryegrass «JAN» is a multi-cut variety, distinguished by its high resistance to rust and leaf spot. In official trials in France, it received 2.5 points in the resistance to rust category, confirming its status as one of the best options for cultivation under high stress. Italian research confirmed high dry matter yield comparable to already registered varieties.
Variety «JAN» is characterized by a small number of stems, making it more compact compared to annual varieties of Westerwold ryegrass. At the same time, it maintains good resistance to lodging and is able to quickly restore the green cover after mowing or cutting. The plant height varies from 40 to 80 cm, and leaves begin to form at a height of 11–16 cm, which ensures a dense and thick lawn even with frequent use.
«JAN» is suitable for both pasture and lawn use. Thanks to its strong tufted root system, it is resistant to soil shear and compression, and withstands the intense loads of sports fields. As a fodder crop, the variety ensures high indicators: at 100 kg of grass – 21–22 fodder units, in hay – 50 fodder units. It is suitable for haymaking for up to 5 years and grazing for more than 7 years, and full growth is achieved already in the second year of sowing.
Thus, «JAN» represents a universal option for ryegrass, combining high yield, resistance to diseases and mechanical damage, and wide possibilities of use for both sports lawns and pasture feeding.
