BARTIGRA – annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam. var. westerwoldicum Wittm.), seeds of which are released by the company BARENBRUG HOLLAND B.V. The culture is characterized by tetraploid genetics, which ensures good drought resistance and rust resistance. The time of flowering is medium-late, and the plant height at flowering is 80–85 cm with a foliar coverage of about 45–50%. The yield of green mass reaches 120–180 c/ha, dry matter – 40–60 c/ha.
The variety is distinguished by a bright dark green shade of leaves and a wide, long flag leaf. The stem and flowering head grow for quite a long time, and the number of spikelets is average. After mowing, the intensity of regrowth of plants remains medium, which makes BARTIGRA suitable for both lawns and fodder purposes.
BARTIGRA quickly forms a dense turf cover, is resistant to trampling and grows well after mowing. Due to a strong root system and high drought tolerance, this variety is often used in lawn mixes to accelerate greening of residential areas and roadside sections. It does not creep but complements other grass types, creating a decorative and high-quality lawn.
