Ryegrass Median

Versatile Grass Solutions for Pastures and Lawns

The 'Median' variety by DLF (Denmark) stands out as a highly adaptive ryegrass designed to serve both agricultural and landscaping needs. Whether you are aiming for high-quality forage production or establishing a durable green area, this variety provides the structural integrity and regrowth capacity required for professional management.

Practical Field Application

• Livestock and Forage: 'Median' is engineered for intensive grazing. Its growth height (40–70 cm) ensures a consistent supply of biomass, while its ability to withstand treading makes it an excellent candidate for pasture rejuvenation. The plant recovers rapidly after grazing, which is vital for maintaining a consistent feeding schedule.
• Turf and Functional Areas: Beyond agricultural use, this variety excels in creating dense, wear-tolerant turf. Its habit allows for quick canopy closure, effectively suppressing weed invasion and maintaining a uniform aesthetic even under frequent maintenance cycles.

Performance and Disease Resistance

A critical factor for any grower is minimizing crop loss to disease. 'Median' features built-in resistance to Red Thread (Laetisaria fuciformis), a common threat in humid conditions that often degrades both forage quality and lawn appearance. By choosing this DLF variety, managers can significantly reduce the need for corrective chemical treatments. Furthermore, its nutrient uptake efficiency ensures vigorous early-spring growth, providing an early green-up that is crucial for maximizing seasonal yield in both farm and landscape settings.
