Description

Winter rye variety Estafette Tatarstan was developed at the Tatar Research Institute of Agriculture using the individually-family selection method from a complex hybrid population. It exhibits high resistance to major diseases, such as powdery mildew, loose smut, and stem rust, as well as tolerance to snow mold and root rot. Plants are characterized by good regenerative ability during spring vegetation renewal, frost hardiness, and lodging resistance, ensuring stable development and high variety productivity under various climatic conditions.

Estafette Tatarstan belongs to medium-late varieties with a stem height of about 126 cm and a maturation period of up to 340 days. The grain is elongated, large, and highly natural, contributing to high product quality. The variety is distinguished by high protein content, lysine, and amino acids with high biological value, making it particularly valuable for child and dietary nutrition. Low pentosan content allows the grain to be used for both food and grain-forage purposes.

Adherence to recommended cultivation technology ensures high yields — up to 64.7 cts/ha, while reducing energy and resource consumption. Estafette Tatarstan is widely used in the Republic of Tatarstan for obtaining environmentally safe grain and green feed. Thanks to its unique characteristics and disease resistance, this variety is a reliable choice for agricultural producers seeking high productivity and product quality.
