SNIEZHANA

The winter rye variety Sniezhana is intended for cultivation in northern regions, including the Northwestern region of Russia, specifically Pskov and Novgorod oblasts. This variety belongs to the medium-late maturity group with a vegetative period ranging from 299 to 346 days. Medium-height plants feature a waxy coating on the ears, and the mass of 1000 grains varies from 26 to 34 grams, indicating large and elongated grain.

Sniezhana is distinguished by high winter hardiness and drought resistance at the level of the standard, ensuring stable development under complex climatic conditions. The variety demonstrates resistance to diseases such as brown and stem rust, root rots, and septoria, although it is susceptible to snow mold. Plants adapt well to acidic soils with high aluminum and phosphorus content.

The average yield of the Sniezhana variety is 31.1 centners per hectare, with maximum indicators reaching up to 68.8 centners. The grain is primarily used for baking production, possessing satisfactory baking qualities. Additionally, this rye variety is suitable for dietary nutrition, expanding its application possibilities in the food industry.
