Glen Fyne raspberry is a mid-early, high-yielding variety selected in Scotland and England, intended for summer fruiting. The berries are large, bright red, conical in shape, averaging about 5.5 grams, with a maximum weight of up to 12 grams. They have a rich raspberry aroma, juicy, sweet flavor with a pleasant acidity and high soluble solids content (brix 10.4). Due to their excellent transportability, the berries retain quality during long-distance transport and can be stored up to five days, making this variety popular for both fresh market and industrial processing.
Glen Fyne raspberry bushes are vigorous with thick, strong, thornless canes, simplifying care and harvest. The plants form tall, robust canes that can be grown either without support or on a trellis, with higher yields achieved on a trellis. The variety exhibits high resistance to viral diseases as well as high drought and frost tolerance, ensuring stable yields even under adverse climatic conditions.
Fruiting begins in the second year after planting, with berry ripening occurring in the first decade of June. Glen Fyne is adaptable to various growing conditions and highly versatile, making it suitable for both home cultivation and industrial-scale production across all climatic zones of Ukraine and other regions. Industrial yields reach 30-35 tons per hectare, confirming its high productivity and economic viability.
