Raspberry Eros

Italian Breeding for Professional Berry Growers

The 'Eros' raspberry variety is the product of Italian company Berrytech S.R.L. and a team of originators including ökohum and Ioriatti Diego. This variety has established itself in the professional berry market, offering growers predictable yields with a single-fruiting cycle. The core objective behind its development was to combine a classic flavor profile with high resistance to prevalent fungal diseases, a crucial factor for achieving commercial-grade yields.

Agronomic Advantages

The main strength of the 'Eros' variety lies in its phytosanitary reliability. In an intensive orchard setting, the crop demonstrates clear resistance to Didymella applanata (spur blight). This significantly simplifies plant protection protocols, reducing the chemical load on the plantation. Field trials confirm that the variety effectively withstands Mycosphaerella leaf spot and brown spot, making it a preferred choice for regions with moderate to humid climates where the risk of foliage infection is particularly high.

Characteristics and Productivity

• Fruiting type: Single-cropping (summer bearing).
• Flavor profile: Rich sweet-and-sour balance.
• Berry color: Intense red.
• Production reliability: Guaranteed by the intellectual property standards of Berrytech S.R.L.

The 'Eros' berry possesses an attractive appearance that remains intact even after transport. This makes the variety highly sought after for both the fresh market and frozen product segments. The breeders placed particular emphasis on the structural integrity of the fruit, allowing farmers to minimize harvest losses. With proper agronomy, the variety delivers consistent results, confirming its status as a reliable professional tool for modern berry operations.
