Primara raspberry is a promising, early-fruiting, remontant variety, characterized by high yield and large berries. The bushes of this variety are thornless, medium-sized, reaching a height of about 120-170 cm, with compact and branched canopies. Due to the absence of thorns and upright growth habit, the plants do not require staking, simplifying care and harvest. The leaves of Primara are large and bright green, with medium internodes.
Primara raspberry bears fruit twice per season: the first harvest ripens in mid-June to July, and the second begins in mid-August and continues until October. With autumn pruning of canes, fruiting shifts to the second harvest, which becomes more abundant and starts slightly earlier. Berries are large, weighing 6 to 15 grams, round or round-conical in shape, pale-red in color. The flesh is juicy, tender, with a sweet-tart dessert flavor, distinct raspberry aroma, and sweet aftertaste. Berries are well transportable, do not darken after harvest, and store well.
The variety is characterized by high frost resistance and resistance to major diseases, making it suitable for industrial plantations. However, Primara is less heat-tolerant, and berries may be damaged by sun exposure, so optimal planting location is partial shade. Yield per bush reaches 2.2–5 kg depending on growing conditions and pruning method. For maintaining berry quality, frequent harvesting is recommended, as berries may drop after ripening.
