Description Zeva
Zeva raspberry is a remontant variety developed by Swiss breeders, intended for both industrial cultivation and home gardens. The bushes of this variety are compact, medium-sized, reaching a height of about 1.5–1.6 meters, with upright, strong canes covered with a moderate number of thorns. Leaves are light green, and the branches are brown. The plant exhibits high resistance to major diseases, frost, and drought, but requires good lighting for optimal growth. The berries of Zeva raspberry are large, round-conical in shape, dark red with a characteristic glossy sheen. Average berry weight ranges from 2.7 to 7 grams, with berries being firm, tender, slightly tart-sweet, and aromatic. Due to their firm flesh and good transportability, the berries are suitable for both fresh consumption and long-distance transport. The variety has a late ripening period: the first harvest appears in early to mid-August and continues until October, even into the onset of frost. The yield is high and stable, averaging 4–5 kg per bush or about 5 kg per 10 square meters. Zeva raspberry can produce up to 8 new canes per plant, which promotes abundant fruiting twice per season, making this variety particularly attractive to gardeners and farmers.
