Delniwa® raspberry variety — a new early-ripening remontant variety developed by the Polish breeding center Niwa Hodowla Roślin Jagodowych in Bzhezne. Obtained by crossing varieties Tulamin, Polana, Heritage, and Polka, this variety ripens early, starting from late July to early August. The plant has low-growing canes, averaging 1.3–1.5 meters, allowing cultivation without trellises. Berries are large, weighing about 6 grams, conical in shape, bright red, firm, and glossy, without darkening after harvest.
The flavor of Delniwa raspberries is excellent, with high sugar content (Brix from 11.3 to 13.3) and low acidity, making the berries exceptionally sweet and pleasant. High percentage of first-class berries and dense structure allow easy detachment from the cane, enhancing harvesting efficiency and enabling mechanized harvesting. Berries do not easily drop and retain their market appearance during transport and storage, making this variety attractive for both fresh market and industrial processing and freezing.
The variety is characterized by high yield and good disease resistance, especially against spider mites and gray mold, confirmed by field trials in Poland. Delniwa raspberry is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic covers, expanding its cultivation potential across various climatic conditions.
