The potato variety "Zoryana" is a medium-maturing table variety with universal use, characterized by high yield and resistance to various diseases. The tubers of this variety are short-oval, white in color with a netted skin and moderately deep eyes. The flesh is white, does not darken during cooking, has medium starch content and excellent taste qualities. Starch content varies from 16 to 18%, making this potato ideal for preparing soups-purees, baked potatoes and potato puree. The average weight of one tuber is about 200-250 grams.
The "Zoryana" variety is characterized by high plasticity and resistance to adverse conditions such as drought and high air and soil temperatures, without reducing yield, which can reach 500 centners per hectare. It is also resistant to potato cancer, viral diseases, late blight on leaves and tubers, as well as common scab. Due to its tough leaves, the plant is less damaged by Colorado beetle, which further increases its resistance and reduces the need for treatments.
In addition, the variety has a stable dormancy period and good storage ability; tubers store well without sprouting and are resistant to mechanical damage. The flowers of the plant have a blue-violet color, which is an additional distinctive feature of the variety. Since 2004, "Zoryana" has been included in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine and is recommended for cultivation in all regions of the country, confirming its adaptability and reliability for agricultural production.
