YONA

The YONA potato variety is an early-maturing table variety included in the State Register for the West Siberian region. Plants are of medium height, semi-erect, with small to medium-sized green leaves. Tubers are oval-round in shape, with small eyes, light beige skin, and light yellow flesh. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 110 to 200 grams, with starch content of 14.3–15.1%. Flavor is excellent, marketability reaches 80–99%, and storability is 94%. The variety is characterized by high yield: market yield ranges from 196 to 360 centners per hectare, which is 41 centners higher than the standard Lubava. Yield on day 45 after emergence reaches 137–208 centners per hectare, and on day 55 — 166–245 centners, significantly exceeding standard varieties. Maximum yield in the Novosibirsk region reaches 404 centners per hectare. YONA potato is resistant to potato cancer pathogen, golden potato cyst nematode, as well as leaf curl and mosaic diseases. YONA potato is suitable for cultivation in Western Siberia and is distinguished by excellent taste and good starch content. Due to disease and pest resistance, as well as high market yield, this variety is an excellent choice for table use. Tubers cook quickly, making them convenient for various culinary purposes.
