TERSKY

The potato variety Tersky is a medium-maturing table variety intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is of medium height, intermediate type with semi-erect stem form. Leaves are of medium size, intermediate type, dark green color, with a medium-sized flower with no or very weak anthocyanin pigmentation on the inner side. Tubers have a round shape with small eyes, light beige skin, and white flesh. The average mass of marketable tubers ranges from 96 to 138 grams, with starch content reaching 14.1%, ensuring excellent taste qualities.

The variety exhibits high market yield, ranging from 150 to 191 centners per hectare, which is 19–23 centners higher than the standard for the Lugovskaya variety. Maximum yield may reach 300 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding regional standards. Tubers have a marketability of 87% and storability of 94%, indicating good preservation and quality during storage.

The Tersky potato is resistant to potato cancer pathogen and pathotype I, as well as resistant to crinkly and striped mosaic. However, the variety is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately resistant to leaf curl. These characteristics make the variety attractive for cultivation in the region, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
