Sunflower KS 5210

Stable yields in challenging conditions: The potential of KS 5210

In the face of recent climate challenges, Ukrainian farmers are increasingly favoring hybrids that combine high productivity potential with environmental plasticity. The KS 5210 sunflower, developed by Genex Ukraine, addresses market demands where predictability and efficient crop protection are the top priorities.

The breeding expertise of Oleksii Shabatko and Vitalii Karunnyi has produced a crop that performs consistently across various Ukrainian fields. The development focus was not merely on yield, but on comprehensive disease resistance and compatibility with the Clearfield (Euro-Lightning) technology. This makes the hybrid a reliable tool for managing broomrape and a broad spectrum of weeds.

Agrotechnical advantages and key features

• Oil content: High levels (45-50%) make KS 5210 seeds highly attractive to processing plants focused on high-quality raw materials.
• Morphology: A medium-height plant (160-170 cm) with balanced development minimizes the risk of lodging and simplifies the harvesting process.
• Phytosanitary control: Genetic resistance to downy mildew (peronospora), phomopsis, and phoma significantly reduces the need for fungicide applications, lowering overall production costs.

Using KS 5210 is a sound strategy for operations aiming to optimize input costs while maintaining high profitability. The hybrid adapts well to different soil types, maintaining stable development even under stress. Choosing Genex Ukraine products is an investment in local breeding that has been proven under real-world production conditions in our region.
