YUGANA

Yugana is a medium-maturing table potato variety with a vegetation period of 80 to 95 days. The plant is of medium height, intermediate type with semi-erect growth. Leaves vary from medium to large size, have an open structure and a rich green color, while the flower has large size and medium intensity of anthocyanin pigmentation on the inner side.

Yugana tubers are oval-round in shape with small eyes, covered with yellow skin, and the flesh is light-yellow. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 94 to 144 grams, with starch content reaching 16.2%. The number of tubers per plant varies from 8 to 12. The variety is characterized by high marketability — from 89 to 96%, and excellent storability, reaching 95%. Taste qualities are rated as good to excellent, allowing its use for preparing various dishes belonging to culinary type C.

Yugana is distinguished by high yield, ranging from 218 to 315 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 449 centners per hectare, matching known standards. The variety is resistant to potato cancer pathogen and late blight affecting both foliage and tubers, as well as to leaf curl virus. However, it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. Preferred cultivation regions are territories of the Eastern Siberian region of Russia.
