Description DELFIN
Delphin potato is a table variety that differs in early or medium maturity depending on its origin. The Belarusian Delphin has a vegetation period of 60-75 days, with the possibility of the first harvest as early as day 45, while the German Delphin variety matures in 80-95 days. Delphin plants are of medium height with semi-erect stems and leaves of medium to large size, dark green in color. Tubers of the Belarusian variety are oval-round with yellow skin and light-yellow flesh, weighing 80-132 grams, while the German variety has oval tubers with red skin and light-yellow flesh, weighing 81-115 grams. The eyes are small and shallow, facilitating tuber processing.

The Delphin variety has high and stable yield. The Belarusian variety demonstrates marketable yield ranging from 170 to 256 c/ha, with maximum yields up to 295 c/ha and potential yield up to 540 c/ha. The German Delphin variety shows yields in the range of 228-374 c/ha, with the highest recorded yield of 306 c/ha. Tubers' marketability varies from 81% to 97%, and storability reaches 90-99%, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. Starch content in the Belarusian variety is 11.2-15.1%, while in the German variety it is 13.7-15.3%, which affects the potato's culinary properties.

Delphin potato is resistant to several diseases, including potato cancer, wrinkled and striped mosaic, and golden cyst nematode. It has moderate resistance to late blight and leaf curl virus. The Belarusian variety is more demanding of soil fertility and sensitive to overwatering, preferring light loams and clays with good mineral content. Tubers have a distinct dormancy period exceeding 90 days, requiring sprouting before planting to improve germination. Delphin is suitable for diverse culinary uses, especially for salads and frozen vegetable mixes, due to its low susceptibility to breakdown, while the German variety is recommended for boiling, soups, and frying.
